BK Mladá Boleslav beat Motor České Budějovice in a shootout after neither regulation nor overtime separated the teams. Home goaltender Vojtěch Mokry stopped every Motor attempt to secure the extra point. Tomáš Hyka scored once and assisted on another, while Pavol Skalický played a part in both Mladá Boleslav goals.

Skalický said his team had played well for 40 minutes but made unnecessary mistakes in the third period, giving Motor power plays and a route back into the game. He felt Mladá Boleslav had been the better side by one point and deserved the win.

The forward described the performance as an improvement on Thursday’s game against Olomouc, saying his team played with more energy and did the things it had intended to do. He also welcomed the goals created by shots and screens in front of the net, and said Mladá Boleslav had finally made its power plays count.

Skalický said the team needed to bring emotion into the game after lacking it against Olomouc. He praised Mokry’s speed and skill in shootouts, saying the goaltender helped earn the second point.
