The SHL and Svenska Spel have named four candidates for Player of the Month for September and October: Lucas Elvenes of Växjö Lakers, Oscar Lindberg of Skellefteå AIK, and Färjestad BK teammates Viktor Lodin and Melker Thelin. The winner will receive the Hejapriset, worth 10,000 kronor, to support a project that strengthens Swedish ice hockey.

Elvenes has 17 points in 13 games and leads the league in assists with 15. Lindberg leads the scoring chart with 19 points in 14 games, while also topping the power-play goal and points rankings. Lodin leads the goal-scoring chart with 11 goals and is second in points with 18; he has scored in 11 of Färjestad’s 14 games.

Goaltender Thelin has won all seven of his starts and recorded three shutouts. He has a 0.99 goals-against average and a 95.6 per cent save percentage, both best in the SHL, according to the league. Svenska Spel sponsorship manager Mats Einarsson said the award recognises on-ice performances and aims to inspire young players.
