Four players have been nominated for the ICE Hockey League’s Young Star of the Month award for October: Maximilian Kirchebner of Moser Medical Graz99ers, Ferenc Laskawy of FTC-Telekom, Martin Reder of Steinbach Black Wings Linz and David Waschnig of EC-KAC.

Kirchebner recorded all three of his season points in October and played all ten of Graz’s games. Laskawy led his age group with nine points in 11 games, including assists on winning goals against Pioneers Vorarlberg and EC-KAC. He also scored on the power play in FTC-Telekom’s 4-1 win at Innsbruck.

Reder won three of his four starts. He stopped all 31 shots in Linz’s 6-0 win at EC Red Bull Salzburg for his first shutout of the season, finishing October with a 91.8 per cent save rate. Waschnig scored in three of four games from 9 to 18 October and had five season goals, the most among players born in 2005 or later.
