HC Škoda Plzeň and the Kapka naděje foundation have donated equipment and funding worth CZK 713,954.84 to the University Hospital Plzeň. The money was raised through the latest edition of the O Kapku lepší hokej charity project.
The hospital’s paediatric clinic received three F&P 950 heated humidification systems, valued at CZK 423,954.84. They warm and humidify air supplied during breathing support, helping protect patients’ airways. The equipment is intended in particular for newborns and premature babies.
A further CZK 290,000 will support training for the hospital’s paediatric palliative care team, which works with children with serious or incurable illnesses and their families. The funding will pay for courses, professional seminars and other educational activities.
The donation was handed over at the paediatric clinic on Monday, 5 October. Hospital director Václav Šimánek said the devices would improve care for critically ill children and the funding would support professional development across the palliative team. HC Škoda Plzeň captain Jakub Jeřábek attended the presentation.
