Mountfield HK will give forward Marek Domkář his competitive debut among adults in Friday’s game at Třinec. Aged 15 years and 312 days, he will become the youngest player to appear for the Hradec Králové club in the Czech Extraliga. He is also more than 10 months younger than the other player born in 2010 to feature in this season’s league, Sparta defenceman Matyáš Michálek.
Domkář will start in the fourth line alongside Radek Pilař and Markus Nenonen. He came through Havlíčkův Brod’s youth system before moving to Hradec Králové in 2024. Last season, he recorded 36 points in 48 games for the U18 side. This season, he has eight points in nine junior appearances.
His debut recalls Adam Novotný’s first game for Hradec, when Novotný scored against Kladno and became the league’s youngest scorer. Domkář is 15 days younger than Novotný was at his debut; a goal would make him the new record-holder. He is also part of the Czech under-17 squad.
