HC Oceláři Třinec extended their winning streak to nine games by beating Mountfield HK, reaching 27 points. Goaltender Ondřej Kacetl made more than 92 per cent of his saves against Hradec Králové. He has played in seven of the team’s nine games so far this season and gave much of the credit to his teammates. “I have enormous respect for them because they work hard in every situation. It’s simply a joy to play behind them,” he said.

Kacetl said the team’s direct play and composure make his job easier, while responsibility and humility help the players handle the pressure of opponents seeking to end Třinec’s run. He added that the squad deliberately avoids focusing on the streak.

Třinec are rotating Kacetl and Marek Mazanec more frequently in goal this season, a plan the two agreed with the coaches before the campaign. Kacetl said regular action helps both stay in game rhythm. Next, Třinec visit HC Dynamo Pardubice. Kacetl said his team would prepare for the game as it does for any other.
