David Kämpf has taken on a much bigger role since returning to the Czech Extraliga with Litvínov, which finished last last season. Expected to centre the first line alongside the Kaše brothers, he is averaging 23:15 of ice time per game, more than any other player in the league. He is also used on both the power play and penalty kill.

Kämpf has seven points in four goals and three assists. At five-on-five, the hokej.DATA assessment rates his offensive performance better than 85% of Extraliga forwards. He creates around 10 shot assists per 60 minutes, and those passes generate chances worth half an expected goal. His results in those categories exceed those of 88% and 78% of forwards, respectively.

Litvínov’s expected goals per hour are 1.1 higher with Kämpf on the ice, while the team scores 0.7 more goals. However, opponents also create more and score more with him playing; his five-on-five goal differential is 6-7. He has won more than 60% of his faceoffs.
