HC Oceláři Třinec has taken over at the top of Hokej.cz’s power rankings after a strong opening month. Its run was halted by HC Dynamo Pardubice on Sunday, but the ranking notes Třinec’s potent offence and contributions from veterans and younger players. Pardubice is second after a nine-game winning streak, though captain Lukáš Sedlák is expected to miss six to eight weeks with an injury.
HC Energie Karlovy Vary is third, with goaltender Frodl singled out for his form, and HC Škoda Plzeň rises three places to fourth. HC Sparta Praha, HC Kometa Brno, Mountfield HK and Bílí Tygři Liberec complete the top eight. Rytíři Kladno drops five places to ninth despite having more points in the league table than Sparta, Liberec or Kometa.
BK Mladá Boleslav climbs to 12th, while HC Vítkovice Ridera is 13th. HC Olomouc falls to last place, with the ranking describing its start as the club’s worst since 2014 and calling for quick improvement. The rankings are compiled by Hokej.cz editors based on factors including current form, injuries, signings and schedule.
