Plans for a 7,500-seat multifunctional arena in Olomouc have been dropped after the new investor said it would not include the venue in the Nová Velkomoravská development. The project had previously received political support, but the city’s political leadership has since changed as well.

The arena was part of a development project transferred from Redstone to Creditas Group under an agreement made in June. “We are not counting on the construction of a multifunctional arena in the Nová Velkomoravská project,” said Lucie Brunclíková, Creditas Group’s director of marketing and communications. She said the arena had been one of several possible uses for the site and that the group would focus on an economically sustainable plan.

HC Olomouc general manager Erik Fürst said the city deserved a multifunctional arena, but added that the club had no influence over the investor’s decision. City support for the project also appears unlikely under the new administration. A separate plan to build a small rink, approved in April 2024, has not yet entered construction; a contractor is still being selected.
