Tipsport Extraliga disciplinary committee chair Radim Bičánek handed down suspensions to two Třinec forwards and fined Olomouc’s Ondřej Matýs for an incident involving a referee. The decisions followed three disciplinary referrals from the 10th round, according to the league report.
Libor Hudáček will miss Třinec’s game against Mladá Boleslav on Friday after slashing an opponent in a game against Pardubice. Bičánek said Hudáček struck the opponent from behind in the back with his stick held in both hands and also hit the opponent’s helmet.
Daniel Kurovský received a two-game suspension for a high stick and a fine equal to 10 per cent of his base salary. Bičánek said he deliberately struck an opponent in the head and noted that Kurovský had been disciplined before.
Matýs was fined 10 per cent of his base monthly remuneration for contacting a referee from behind with his leg, causing the official to fall. Bičánek said Matýs had time and space to avoid or reduce the contact, but intent could not be confirmed; Matýs also apologised.
