All 14 Czech Extraliga teams were in action on Sunday, with second-placed HC Dynamo Pardubice set to host leaders HC Oceláři Třinec in the headline matchup. Třinec had taken 27 points from its first nine games, while Pardubice entered on a six-game league winning streak. The game was scheduled for 18:30.
In České Budějovice, the match between Motor České Budějovice and Bílí Tygři Liberec was interrupted for half an hour because of problems with the ice. Liberec arrived after three consecutive wins, while Motor had earned 10 of its 12 home points.
Earlier results included HC Sparta Praha’s 3–0 win over HC Vítkovice Ridera and BK Mladá Boleslav’s 2–1 victory against HC Verva Litvínov. The other scheduled games were Mountfield HK against HC Olomouc, HC Energie Karlovy Vary against Rytíři Kladno, and HC Kometa Brno against HC Škoda Plzeň.
