Cardiff Devils host Belfast Giants on Wednesday as league action resumes, with the Devils looking to maintain their place at the top of the standings. Cardiff beat Belfast 5-2 at the Vindico Arena on 11 October, when the teams met for the first time this season. The Devils come into the game after two Challenge Cup wins: 1-0 against Sheffield on Saturday and 4-2 in Nottingham on Sunday.

Belfast also won twice last weekend, beating Glasgow 1-0 in the league before a 2-1 overtime Challenge Cup victory on Sunday. That result secured the Giants top spot in Group B and the overall number one seed for the semi-finals.

Guildford return to league play after two Challenge Cup wins over Coventry, finishing their group campaign on 12 points. They won 2-1 at home on Saturday and came back from 3-2 down in the third period to win 5-3 at the Skydome on Sunday. Guildford have won three of their first four league games. Dundee, who have three points from five league games, did not play last weekend after their home fixture against Nottingham was postponed due to forecast severe weather.
