Coventry Blaze came from behind to beat Nottingham Panthers 2-1 in a shootout on Sunday evening. The game was scoreless through the first two periods before Nottingham took the lead at 44:38. Jaakko Niskala scored from the top of the circle after sustained pressure from the visitors.

Coventry responded at 47:32, when Márkó Csollák scored from a similar position at the other end to make it 1-1. Neither team found a winner during the rest of regulation or overtime, so the game went to a shootout.

Miika Pitkänen put Nottingham ahead in the opening round, and William Boysen levelled for Coventry in round three. The teams were still tied after five rounds, taking the shootout to sudden death. Boysen scored again to secure the win and the extra point for the Blaze.
