Dundee Stars earned their second win of the week with a 4-3 victory over Fife Flyers at Fife Ice Arena. The visitors opened the scoring, but Craig Moore put Dundee ahead before Fife captain Garet Hunt tied it at 1-1. Michal Drábek then gave the Flyers a 2-1 lead late in the first period.
Travis Ewanyk levelled 59 seconds into the second, and Matthew DeBoer restored Dundee’s advantage after a Fife turnover. Evan Dougherty made it 3-3 with 58 seconds left in the period. Dougherty and Duggie Lagrone also fought before the intermission.
Kris Inglis scored the winner at 44:21, firing a shot that struck the post and went into the net off Fife goaltender Jordan McLaughlin. The Flyers pulled McLaughlin late and had a chance through Zach Power, who shot wide, but could not find an equaliser.
Dundee netminder Carl Stankowski called it a “gritty team effort” and said the Stars had stuck to their game plan to get the two points.
