The Deutsche Eishockey Liga (PENNY DEL) and German Cancer Aid will launch a nationwide Move Challenge on 1 November 2026, encouraging hockey fans to add more movement to their daily lives. The initiative begins with an action day at all seven game venues and will be promoted on the league’s and all 14 clubs’ online and social media channels.

Players will demonstrate a simple choreography to “Eishockeymaus”, a reworked version of the song “Karnevalsmaus” by Bonn band Druckluft. Fans can try the moves alone or with others, record their own videos and share them on social media using #Eishockeymaus.

The campaign will run until World Cancer Day on 4 February 2027. German Cancer Aid says regular physical activity can contribute to preventing some cancers, and that everyday movement can be beneficial without requiring strenuous exercise. Its accompanying information will explain how activity can support cancer prevention and be included in daily routines.

DEL managing director Gernot Tripcke said the league wanted to use the campaign to reach people and encourage them to become active. German Cancer Aid chief Gerd Nettekoven said the challenge aims to make movement accessible and enjoyable.
