Augsburger Panther defenceman Maximilian Glötzl has been suspended for two games by the Deutsche Eishockey Liga disciplinary committee following an incident against Löwen Frankfurt on 29 October 2026. He will also receive a fine. The suspension means he will miss Augsburg’s games against Grizzlys Wolfsburg and EHC Red Bull München.

The committee ruled that Glötzl violated Rule 48, which concerns checks to the head and neck area. It cited three factors: the opponent’s head was the main point of contact; Glötzl straightened his body immediately before making contact; and, on closer review, the contact with the opponent’s head could have been avoided.
