Motor České Budějovice have denied reports that they are negotiating a deal to send Nick Olesen to HC Dynamo Pardubice, while confirming that HC Sparta Praha showed interest in the Danish forward. Sport director Václav Nedorost called claims of talks with Pardubice “a complete fabrication” and said Sparta had asked about Olesen, as well as other players.

Nedorost said the club does not actively offer players, though other teams sometimes enquire about specific individuals. He added that any trade involving a key player would need to bring an adequate return. Olesen is under contract with Motor until 2028, after signing a new deal last autumn.

The forward led Motor’s scoring last season with 45 points. This autumn, he has recorded nine points, including three goals, in 11 games. Nedorost said he had spoken with Olesen about the reports and that the player took the news calmly.

Nedorost also said goaltender Jan Strmeň’s injury is expected to keep him out for an extended period, possibly until the second international break. Motor currently plan to work with the eight defencemen on their roster.
