BK Mladá Boleslav owner Jan Plachý says the team’s difficult start to the season was partly a consequence of its extensive summer roster rebuild. New combinations took time to develop, he said, though the club had earned six points from its previous four games at the time of the interview. Plachý expressed confidence in head coach Petr Haken and said the club had not discussed replacing him, even after a run of six consecutive defeats.
Plachý praised forward Felikss Gavars as a particularly successful signing, while saying he expected more so far from Steve Jandric, Antoine Morand, Jordan Martel and Radek Koblížek. He also welcomed Tomáš Hyka’s contribution after a trade with Sparta Praha, while describing Vojtěch Hradec as a player with potential.
The owner said widening financial differences between clubs are visible in the standings and estimated Mladá Boleslav’s budget to be around 10th in the league. He called the new three-year agreement with ŠKODA AUTO a major benefit and said home attendances would likely improve if the team began winning more often.
