HC Kometa Brno beat Bílí Tygři Liberec 3-2 in overtime on Sunday, but had to settle for two points after surrendering a third-period lead. Filip Král scored the winner in extra time, extending Kometa’s run after Friday’s 2-1 victory at Kladno.

Robert Leino opened the scoring for Kometa at 19:23. Liberec outshot the hosts 11-5 in the second period and levelled in the 35th minute when Filip Jansa deflected a shot from Michal Vlach. Brno captain Jakub Flek restored Kometa’s lead less than a minute later.

Liberec challenged Kometa’s opening goal for offside, but officials upheld the decision after a review; the visitors were not penalised because the footage was inconclusive. Liberec assistant coach Jiří Kudrna said his team had been right to challenge.

Lenc tied the game on a power play with 90 seconds remaining, after a penalty to Witkowski. Kometa assistant Jiří Horáček rejected the suggestion that his team had been passive in the third period, saying it had played actively while adapting its system to protect the lead.
