Manchester Storm moved joint-top of the Motorpoint Elite League with a 6-2 away win over Fife Flyers on Saturday. Drydn Dow opened the scoring 1:44 into the game, with the goal confirmed after a video review. Joe Nardi made it 2-0 and Brandon Cutler added a power-play goal late in the first period to give Storm a three-goal lead.

Tim McGauley extended the advantage early in the second, but Mike Petizian scored for Fife. Brady Gilmour replied just over a minute later, before Petizian struck again to make it 5-2 after two periods. Manchester kept the Flyers scoreless in the third, and Kyle Maksimovich sealed the win with an empty-net goal 78 seconds from the end.

Maksimovich said Storm had started strongly and followed their game plan against Fife’s forecheck. He also said the victory continued the team’s hard work during the week. Maksimovich had recorded seven points over his previous three games.
