Nürnberg Ice Tigers forward Austin Magera has been suspended for one game and fined by the Deutsche Eishockey Liga disciplinary committee after a check against the head and neck area in the game against Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven on 16 October 2026. He will miss Nürnberg’s home game against EHC Red Bull München, according to the league announcement.
The committee said the opponent’s head was the point of contact and that the impact to the head could have been avoided on closer consideration. It also concluded that Magera accepted the risk of injuring his opponent.
Six players received fines for taking part in a physical altercation after the final whistle: Andy Miele, Valdimir Eminger and Christian Wejse of Bremerhaven, and Samuel Dove-McFalls, Greg Meireles and Evan Barratt of Nürnberg. The league said Dove-McFalls, a Nürnberg forward, received an increased fine because he initiated the incident.
