Björklöven have made a record start to the SHL season, collecting 14 points in their first six games. The newcomer has won five of those matches, setting a new points record for a newly promoted team. The previous best was 12 points, shared by three teams. Fredrik Forsberg welcomed the start but warned that the season is still young: “A good start is important, but it’s also about what you do with the start.”
Björklöven are third in the table after six rounds. Their shooting efficiency of 13.1% is the league’s third best, while their goalkeepers’ 92.8% save percentage ranks second. Forsberg said the team’s defensive play has been a particular strength, building on the previous season, and noted that many players have stayed with the team.
Some underlying numbers have prompted doubts about whether the results can last. Forsberg said the team reviews those figures but should not become fixated on them: “I’d rather have red numbers there and wins in the games than green numbers and losses.” He said the team would assess its season after 52 rounds and stressed that “nothing is decided in October.”
