Skellefteå, Frölunda, Rögle and Växjö face the fifth of six Champions Hockey League group-stage rounds, with three of the Swedish sides still chasing a confirmed playoff place. Skellefteå are already through after winning all four games so far without dropping a point. They meet fellow unbeaten, playoff-qualified HC Pilsen, with the winner better placed to earn a high seed.
Defending champions Frölunda have won three of four matches. A victory over Bili Tygri Liberec would secure their playoff ticket. Liberec have five points and hold the next-to-last qualifying place.
Växjö have two wins and two losses and currently sit in a playoff position. Their remaining fixtures include games against Genève-Servette and Dynamo Pardubice. Sam Hallam, Växjö’s former title-winning coach, now leads Genève-Servette, which visits Vida Arena.
Rögle lost its first two games before responding with two home wins, scoring nine goals and conceding none. They host HC Davos, who began with three straight victories but lost 6-2 to Skellefteå in the previous round.
