Dylan McLaughlin has made a decisive impact in Timrå’s two wins, collecting five points in seven games. Timrå scored seven goals in those victories, and McLaughlin had a hand in five: the 3-2 overtime win over Djurgården and Thursday’s 4-1 victory over Frölunda. He has been held scoreless in the team’s five defeats so far.

“I want to be a player who helps in every game; I know that’s expected of me,” the American said. The 31-year-old joined Timrå from Växjö after three seasons there, seeking a new environment and a bigger role. He is averaging 19:36 of ice time and is used on both the power play and penalty kill, having not played short-handed during his time in Växjö.

McLaughlin called Thursday’s win important for the group, particularly because Timrå scored several goals, including on the power play. He hopes the team’s scoring drought is over. Timrå’s next game is away to Luleå on Saturday.
