The Players Safety Group has reviewed the previous day’s SHL games and reported Linköping player Linus Hultström to the Swedish Ice Hockey Association’s Disciplinary Board. The board was due to consider the case during the day.
The incident took place with 18 seconds remaining in the first period. Malmö’s Lauri Pajuniemi had control of the puck and was skating towards the end boards with a Linköping player behind him. Hultström moved in front of Pajuniemi and delivered a forceful crosscheck to his face.
