Rögle BK hosted the first meeting of a new network for mental performance work in the SHL. The initiative is intended to give clubs a forum to share knowledge and experience, and to develop sports psychology work in Swedish ice hockey together. Representatives from Rögle BK, Frölunda HC, Luleå Hockey and Linköping HC took part in the first meeting.
The network aims to support exchanges of experience and professional development on sports psychology. At regular meetings, clubs will be able to discuss current challenges, share methods and approaches, and highlight examples of good practice.
Ludvig Nilsson, a sports psychology adviser at Rögle BK, initiated the project and is responsible for it at the club. The ambition is to strengthen cooperation between SHL clubs and help create sustainable performance and development environments for players and staff. The initiative is part of Impact by SHL and aims to make sports psychology a natural part of Swedish ice hockey.
