Liiga’s Friday and Saturday games produced 61 goals, with four matches going to overtime. HPK beat Ässät in a shootout in Pori, then defeated KooKoo to extend its winning streak to four games. Olli Korhonen had two goals and two assists against KooKoo, matching his career-best single-game points total. Tappara also won twice, beating KalPa with Jesper Mattila’s goal 19 seconds from the end before edging TPS in a shootout. The latter was Tappara’s fourth consecutive win.

Lukko beat league-leading Ilves in Tampere, with Aleksi Saarela recording a goal and two assists. Lukko has won five of its last six games, the best record over that span. Kiekko-Espoo ended a three-game losing streak against JYP, while KooKoo earned its first win of the autumn under new head coach Kai Suikkanen. At 67, Suikkanen became the oldest coach in Liiga history.
