EC-KAC defender Maximilian Preiml says his team must cut down on turnovers when it faces EC Red Bull Salzburg. KAC returned to winning ways in Vorarlberg, but Preiml said it was not their best performance and that they needed to avoid giving the puck away.

The 23-year-old has scored once and added two assists in nine games this season, with a plus/minus of +6. He forms a defensive pairing with Will MacKinnon, whom he says he gets along with well on the ice. Preiml said the pair’s focus is to defend tightly, take the chances that arise and get pucks to the net.

Salzburg have won their last three league games and climbed to seventh place. Their run includes a 6-1 win in Székesfehérvár. KAC beat Salzburg 7-1 in their season opener, but Preiml expects a different opponent this time. He said KAC would have a good chance if they played their game for 60 minutes, eliminated turnovers and moved the puck forward.
