Cardiff Devils began their 40th Anniversary Weekend with a 3-0 shutout victory over Dundee Stars. Before the game, former Devils players joined the current team for a presentation to the fans. The first period ended scoreless, with chances at both ends and Ben Bowns making a save from Gary Haden’s backhand attempt for Dundee.

Cardiff broke the deadlock in the second period. Kristoff Kontos set up Riley Brandt in the slot, and Brandt found Nick Welsh joining the attack to put the Devils ahead. Dundee had a powerplay in the closing seconds of the period, but Maxim Eliseev fired just over.

With Cardiff leading by one in the final ten minutes, Josh MacDonald doubled the advantage four seconds into a powerplay. Joey Martin won the faceoff and the puck was worked to MacDonald, who scored with a one-timer. Dundee pulled Carl Stankowski with 2:28 remaining, and Kohen Olischefski sealed the win with an empty-net goal with 66 seconds left.
