Sheffield Steelers recovered from two overtime defeats the previous weekend with a 5-0 win over Glasgow Clan at the Utilita Arena. The opening period was scoreless, despite Sheffield having extended spells of pressure and outshooting the visitors. Glasgow started the second period strongly, but Matt Greenfield denied a Cole Kodsi chance with a scorpion save.
Olivier Archambault set up Tim Gettinger to open the scoring just before the halfway point. Ryan Tait made it 2-0 soon afterwards, converting Adam Rockwood’s pass from the slot, and Brandon Whistle added a third a minute later. Gettinger scored again late in the period, finishing at the back post after Mitchell Balmas picked him out.
Whistle completed the scoring on a powerplay in the third period, finishing at the back post after a passing move involving Cormier and Balmas. Sheffield continued to create chances, including on two more powerplays, but there were no further goals. Glasgow left with no points after six league games and had one win in its previous nine games.
