Glasgow Clan beat Dundee Stars at Braehead Arena, giving new head coach Jack Skille his first win in charge and keeping the team in contention for qualification from Challenge Cup Group B. It was Glasgow’s first victory since late September, and kept their hopes of reaching the Challenge Cup Elimination Game alive.
The Stars conceded three times across an eight-minute spell spanning the first two periods. Brady Risk tipped Jake Johnson’s shot at 14:40 to put the Clan ahead. Just 67 seconds into the second period, David Madsen passed to the far post and Deven Sideroff deflected the puck home. Seventy seconds later, Keaton Pehrson scored on an odd-man rush with a shot that beat Vladislav Pestov.
Dundee took three minor penalties in the final period, leaving the Stars shorthanded as they tried to find a way back into the game.
