Glasgow Clan welcome Belfast Giants to Braehead Arena on Friday for their first league meeting of the season. Clan are still seeking their first points after losing all seven of their league games so far. They sit tenth, having scored nine goals and conceded 27, and have yet to score on the powerplay in league competition.
Belfast have played three league games and have four points, with two wins—including one in overtime—and one defeat. Friday’s game is their second trip to Scotland this week, following a Cup defeat in Fife on Wednesday.
The teams have already met three times in the Challenge Cup this season. Belfast won the first meeting 3-2 in Glasgow after a shootout, before Clan claimed a 4-1 home victory. The Giants won their latest encounter 4-1 in Northern Ireland last Saturday. Glasgow’s earlier home win is their only victory over Belfast in those three meetings.
