Guildford Flames recovered from an early two-goal deficit to beat Glasgow Clan 6-2, handing Glasgow a seventh consecutive league defeat and ending the visitors’ double-header in Scotland with a win. Steven Seigo and Matt Spencer scored just over a minute apart to put Clan ahead in the first period.
Guildford pulled level early in the second. Justin Ducharme made it 2-1 shortly after the 23-minute mark, and Jack Jacome tied the game 1:37 later. Cade Neilson had two breakaway chances for Glasgow in the period but could not convert.
Alexandre Lavoie tipped in Karl Boudrias’ shot at 42:31 to put the Flames ahead, then Boudrias scored himself at 48:39. After Brad Arvanitis stopped Glasgow from closing the gap, Brett Neumann scored into an empty net at 57:38. Boudrias added another empty-net goal with 63 seconds remaining.
“It felt great to score, especially after the game yesterday that was really hard,” said new signing Alex Lavoie. He added that the team had kept its approach simple and that everyone had stepped up.
