Nürnberg took the lead through Barratt in the 12th minute after a goalkeeping error by Neffin. Ty Ronning then scored three times, in the 39th, 56th and 60th minutes, as Berlin secured all three points. Nürnberg remained top of the standings despite the defeat.
Iserlohn Roosters claimed their first three-point win of the season, beating Krefeld Pinguine 3-2. Peter Quenneville, Colin Ugbekile and Maximilian Eisenmenger scored for Iserlohn; Matthew Santos struck twice for Krefeld, but could not force overtime. Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven beat Löwen Frankfurt 2-1, and Grizzlys Wolfsburg defeated Adler Mannheim 4-1. Kölner Haie won 6-3 away to ERC Ingolstadt, while Straubing Tigers beat Schwenninger Wild Wings 4-2. The next round begins Thursday with Frankfurt hosting Krefeld.
