Nürnberg Ice Tigers defenceman Julius Karrer has been suspended for one game by the Deutsche Eishockey Liga disciplinary committee following a violation of Rule 50, which covers checks to the knee. He will miss Nürnberg’s home game against Adler Mannheim and has also been fined.
The incident occurred during the Ice Tigers’ game against Eisbären Berlin on 4 October 2026. The committee said Karrer made no attempt to avoid or minimise contact, made no effort to gain possession of the puck and accepted the risk of injuring his opponent.
