The Kölner Haie beat Herning Blue Fox 3-0 at home, with Nico Wiens recording a shutout on his Champions Hockey League debut. Patrick Russell scored twice, in the 16th and 26th minutes, and Maximilian Kammerer added a goal in the 21st. The win lifted Köln to second place with 14 points and secured a place in the knockout round.
Adler Mannheim also qualified after beating Polish champions GKS Tychy 5-4 in a shootout. Macek, Kuhnhackl, Esposito and Mattinen scored in regulation; Mattinen then netted the decisive shootout goal. Mannheim earned two points from the game and moved to 11 overall, enough to guarantee a top-16 finish.
Eisbären Berlin joined them shortly afterwards, holding on for a 4-3 win away to Salzburg. Fontaine, Geibel, Kirk and Foudy gave Berlin a four-goal lead, but the hosts scored three unanswered goals to close the gap. The Eisbären protected their advantage and took all three points. They have nine points and are also through to the knockout stage.
