Filip Sandberg scored in overtime to give Bílí Tygři Liberec a 3-2 home win over Frölunda Gothenburg, with both teams earning points in the race for Champions Hockey League playoff spots.
Frölunda led after the first period, with Noah Hasa finishing from close range in the 14th minute after Filip Cederqvist set him up. Liberec tied the game in the second: Radan Lenc converted a penalty shot after Tobias Normann used a flying goal stick to stop Jakub Rychlovský’s open-net attempt.
Lenc had a chance to put Liberec ahead early in the third but was denied by Normann. Tomáš Galvas then made it 2-1 with a shot from the high slot during a delayed penalty against Frölunda. The visitors killed the resulting penalty and equalised through Henrik Tömmernes, who beat Petr Kváča with 5:27 remaining.
In overtime, Liberec held possession in the Frölunda zone during a delayed penalty. Sandberg finished the attack with a shot over Normann’s shoulder for the winning goal.
