Storhamar beat Tappara 2-1 in overtime, with Sander Hurrød scoring the winner to secure another victory in the 2026/27 Champions Hockey League season. The game was tied after 60 minutes before Hurrød forced his way towards the net and sent a backhand past Christian Heljanko.
Neither team scored in the first period, despite Storhamar leading 11-7 in shots. The visitors opened the scoring in the second when Sverre Rønningen’s shot found its way through traffic and past Heljanko. Rønningen had gathered the puck after Storhamar won a faceoff in its own zone, and the screened goalkeeper could not stop the shot.
Tappara equalised two and a half minutes into the third period on a penalty shot. Benjamin Rautiainen glided in from the side, waited for Theo R. de Vries to sprawl, then lifted the puck over his right pad. The teams remained level until Hurrød’s overtime finish gave Storhamar the win.
