Adler Mannheim secured a place in the Champions Hockey League playoffs after beating GKS Tychy 5-4 in a shootout. The two points guarantee Mannheim’s qualification, while Tychy must still fight for a playoff spot on Game Day 6.
Mannheim took a two-goal lead early through Brooks Macek and Tom Kühnhackl. Tychy responded with a goal from Bartłomiej Jeziorski, then levelled early in the second period through Leevi Viitala. Luke Esposito restored Mannheim’s lead, but Alan Łyszczarczyk equalised on the powerplay.
