Jesse Puljujärvi completed a hat-trick seven seconds into overtime to give Genève-Servette HC a 4-3 win over Kölner Haie. The result handed Cologne its first loss of the season and was Genève-Servette’s fourth victory.

Matthew Verboon opened the scoring at 11:23 of the first period, finishing Marco Miranda’s cross-crease pass. Brady Austin levelled for Cologne in the final seconds of the period, then Daniel Fischbuch put the visitors ahead 1:29 into the second.

Puljujärvi tied the game with four seconds left in the middle period, scoring on a five-on-three power play after Joshua Jooris found him in the slot. With just over five minutes remaining in regulation, the Finn scored on a penalty shot to restore Genève-Servette’s lead.

Cologne responded moments later as Maximilian Kammerer redirected Fischbuch’s pass to make it 3-3. The teams remained level through regulation before Puljujärvi scored his third goal of the night in the opening seconds of overtime.
